2. Requires extra care

These categories are allowed, but both parties must confirm that they have read the safety information:

Services: snow clearingOn the ground only – never on roofs. Watch out for cars and people when using a snow blower.
Child car seatsState whether the seat has been in a collision, and when it was made or when it expires. Never give away a car seat that has been in a collision.

3. Can only be lent for free or given away during the pilot phase

Trailers, bicycles (including e-bikes and e-scooters) and kayaks, canoes and SUP boards can, during the pilot phase, only be lent for free, given away or posted as Wanted. We are looking into whether renting out such things for payment gives Laandet a duty to report to the Norwegian Tax Administration (Skatteetaten). When we know more, we will update this page.

4. Value over 5 000 kr

Things with a declared value of over 5 000 kr cannot currently be rented out through Laandet. This is Laandet's own rule. Renting out such things requires stronger identity checks and a separate arrangement for deposits, and we do not have that yet. You can still give such things away.

5. How we enforce the rules

  • Prohibited categories cannot be selected.
  • If a listing seems to concern something that is not allowed, we will tell you before you publish. A moderator will then look at the listing.
  • Anyone can report a listing using "Report listing".
  • We may hide listings that break the rules. You will always be given a reason and can appeal.
  • Repeated or serious breaches can lead to the account being restricted or suspended.

6. Suggesting new categories

If there is a category you are missing, you can suggest it. We only open up new categories that are safe and legal. For things in section 1, a legal and safety assessment must be carried out first, and it must be clarified what applies with regard to insurance.
